Dean Kuipers writes about the environment and farming and, together with his wife Lauri Kranz, runs an urban farm and produce company in Los Angeles. His most recent books are The Deer Camp, a memoir about his family’s relationship to the land and, with Kranz, A Garden Can Be Anywhere, a personal how-to on organic gardening. He is also the author of Burning Rainbow Farm and Operation Bite Back, and his work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Outside, The Atlantic, Men’s Journal, Rolling Stone, Wired, and many other publications.
