SCOTUS to take on SNAP data case (Argus Leader): The Supreme Court will hear a case about whether retailers must disclose how much of their sales come from SNAP dollars. The case was originally brought by the Argus Leader, a newspaper based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 2011.

Trump sucker-punches farmers (New York Times): In an op-ed piece, a radio news director in Iowa argues that had President Trump “set out to ruin America’s small farmers, he could hardly have come up with a more effective, potentially ruinous one-two combination punch than tariffs and the shutdown.”

The year ahead in school food (SNA): The School Nutrition Association issued its 2019 policy paper, which calls on USDA to simplify child nutrition regulations and work with the Department of Education to develop guidance on the length of lunch periods.

How many calories are in that beer? (The Takeout): Beginning in February, Bud Light will become the first American beer to contain a nutrition facts label and ingredients list.
