Largest rooftop farm? Paris. (Guardian): A mammoth rooftop farm spanning nearly 3.5 acres — big enough to be both the largest rooftop farm and the largest urban farm in the world — is under construction on top of an exhibition center in southwestern Paris, with plans to open next year.

Let them stay, but deport them (DTN/Progressive Farmer): A poll of rural Nebraskans found conflicting views on immigration, with two-thirds saying undocumented workers should be deported but nearly as many saying undocumented workers should be allowed to apply for citizenship if they have been working in the United States and paying taxes for at least five years.

Grain trade giant to move to Missouri (Bunge): Bunge Ltd., one of the largest grain traders in the world, said it will relocate its global headquarters to St. Louis, “home to a number of food, agriculture, animal health, and plant science organizations and customers,” by mid-2020.

U.S. rice crop down 8 percent (USDA): Rice growers scaled back plantings by more than 6 percent this year due to the rainy and cold spring, and yields are down as well. The U.S. rice crop is forecast at 208.7 million hundredweight, or 6.63 million tonnes, a drop of 8 percent from last year.
