World’s biggest dairy farm, this time in Brazil

Five weeks after reports that construction was underway for the world’s largest dairy farm in northeastern China, a Dutch multimillionaire says he will build the world’s largest dairy farm in southern Brazil. Both projects would have 100,000 cows. The website DutchNews says Kees Koolen, an investor in Uber, purchased 31 hectares in southern Brazil as the site for a dairy farm that would produce 1 million liters (264,000 gallons) of milk a day. Cattle for the farm would be imported from the Netherlands. In early July, British-based Farmers Weekly said Chinese and Russian investors were collaborating on a 100,000-cow farm that would supply milk and cheese to Russia. The largest existing dairy is Modern Dairy Co., with 40,000 cows.
