Much of DC is snowbound but the party spirit abides. On a nighttime dog walk, the Insider found a sedate celebration in a driveway apron cleared of snow. Several neighbors sat in lawn chairs around a fire pit. Trays holding adult beverages were stabbed into the snowy walls and a portable music player sat on a car trunk. A block later, the Insider found the remnants of a similar party, on a street where no snowplow was seen since the storm began.
Because of the storm, House leaders cancelled this week’s session and the House Agriculture Committee postponed a hearing, set for today with EPA administrator Gina McCarthy as the star witness, “to consider the impacts of [EPA’s] actions on the rural economy.” There was no immediate word on a new date.
