An experiment in Rwanda is testing if farming communities will change their agricultural practice to cope with climate change if the government gives them timely weather forecasts, says the site SciDev.Net. The research could help reduce crop and livestock losses if growers adopt practices that are more resilient. The project began in late October and results are expected in early 2015.
“It’s a good opportunity to contribute to the research of whether we invest our dollars in climate services,” a researcher told SciDev.Net.
