Krysta Harden, who retired as deputy agriculture secretary at the end of February, has joined DuPont as vice president of public policy and chief sustainability officer, based in Washington. “She will have responsibility for leading the company’s public policy and government affairs strategies, as well as its sustainability, philanthropy, product stewardship and global regulatory activities,” said a DuPont announcement.
Harden succeeds Linda Fisher, who retired last month. The company said Harden was “a widely respected leader with exceptional experience in natural resource conservation, agriculture policy and sustainability,”
Harden, a former chief of staff for Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, became deputy secretary in August 2013. As deputy secretary, she oversaw the daily operations of USDA.
