President Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed by telephone to push for speedy agreement of a 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership on trade, says the Xinhua news agency. The leaders spoke while negotiators concluded four days of bilateral discussions without a resolution of disputes over automobiles and agricultural trade. The U.S. side urged Japan to take bold steps at the TPP negotiations. Japan and the United States will continue to work nation-to-nation on the agriculture and auto issues.
