At a “Made in Rural America” forum, the administration unveiled a Web portal for rural businesses interested in the export market. In a statement, it said the portal will highlight export opportunities and soon will have a “quick search tool for rural businesses preparing to export.”
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack spoke at the forum in Canonsburg, Pa. Four more forums are planned with the next on July 18 in the Memphis area. U.S. farm exports are forecast for a record $149.5 billion this year.
