Trump nominates CFTC commissioner

President Trump has nominated Brian D. Quintenz of Ohio to be a commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, according to the White House website. If approved, Quintenz would serve until April 13, 2020.

“Mr. Quintenz was the Founder, Managing Principal, and Chief Investment Officer of Saeculum Capital Management LLC from November 2013 to November 2016.  Before holding that position, Mr. Quintenz was a consultant with Rose International from June 2013 until November 2013.  Prior to this, he worked at Hill-Townsend Capital LLC from 2009 to 2012, first as an Analyst and then as the Senior Associate,” said the statement.

The commission consists of five commissioners who serve staggered terms. All are appointed by the president. The CFTC oversees commodity trading not only for such crops as corn, wheat, and cotton but also for crude oil, heating oil, gasoline, copper, gold, and silver.
