Trump gives EPA website a new look

The EPA is changing language on its webpage to match the values of the new administration, and the fact that both President Trump and EPA head Scott Pruitt have publicly denied that climate change is manmade.

The changes will start with a page that “includes links to scientific research, emissions data from industrial plants and a multi-agency report that describes trends related to the causes and effects of climate change,” says Reuters.

One of the primary updates will involve language related to the Clean Power Plan, which was approved under the Obama administration to curb greenhouse gas emissions, especially at coal-fired plants. Trump repealed the plan during his first 100 days in office. An agency statement about the revisions said that “content related to climate and regulation is also being reviewed.”

“We want to eliminate confusion by removing outdated language first and making room to discuss how we’re protecting the environment and human health by partnering with states and working within the law,” said J.P. Freire, associate administrator for public affairs at the agency.
