Roberts rises in polls as Orman gets scrutiny

The latest poll from Kansas shows a dead-even race for the Senate. Business Insider says “there’s a simple reason” for incumbent Pat Roberts’ rebound from trailing independent Greg Orman – Orman “has finally been put under the microscope.” A source told Business Insider the Roberts camp failed to take Orman seriously earlier in the year. Now, Roberts hammers Orman as a closet Democrat. Roberts says if he wins a fourth term and Republicans take control of the Senate, he will be the next Senate Agriculture Committee chairman.

Pollster’s tracking model gives Roberts a tiny edge, 44.2-43.6, and says there is a 50 percent probability that Roberts will win.

The sunflower field that appears on Sen Pat Roberts’ campaign Web site and news releases is actually in Ukraine, says BuzzFeed. It says a Roberts spokesman said the photo was a stock image to reflect Kansas’ place as the Sunflower State. The spokesman said “I doubt voters care.”
