Pryor leads in Arkansas, Roberts stays on Kansas ballot
Democrat Mark Pryor, chairman of the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on agriculture, leads Republican challenger Tom Cotton, 51-40, in an NBC/Marist telephone poll of 1,174 registered voters in Arkansas, with 7 percent undecided and 2 percent backing someone else. Margin of error +/-2.9 percent, says Pollster. It is the largest lead Pryor has registered. Election day is six months away. Pollster’s poll-tracking model puts the race at Pryor 47, Cotton 43.
A state board in Kansas unanimously ruled that Sen Pat Roberts, an Agriculture Committee member, meets residency requirements and his name will remain on the ballot for the primary election, says the Wichita Eagle. Supporters of Milton Wolf, also running for the GOP nomination, brought the challenge. A Washburn University professor told the newspaper the dispute indirectly aids Wolf’s argument that Roberts has been in Washington too long.
