Nutrition advisor Sam Kass leaving White House-Report

Sam Kass, nutrition policy advisor at the White House and executive director of the Let’s Move! initiative against childhood obesity, is leaving the White House, says the Wall Street Journal. It says an announcement will be made today about Kass’s plans. According to the Journal, Kass’s recent marriage to a New York-based broadcaster led to the decision. He is expected to remain active in the Let’s Move! campaign, said the newspaper. Kass came to the White House as assistant chef and helped create the kitchen garden, “the first major vegetable garden at the White House since Eleanor Roosevelt’s Victory garden,” according to a White House bio on Kass, one of First Lady Michelle Obama’s longest-serving advisors.
