New faces for Cotton Council president and Washington office

The National Cotton Council board elected Gary Adams as the organization’s president and chief executive, and Reece Langley as its vice present for Washington operations. Adams, the vice president for economics since 2002, succeeds Mark Lange. Langley, who joined the council last October, will replace John Maguire, who ran the Washington office since 1986. Lange and Maguire both are retiring.

Sledge Taylor, a cotton ginner from Como, Miss., was elected NCC chairman for 2015 during the annual meeting in Memphis, succeeding Wallace Darneille, of Lubbock, Texas. Taylor was NCC vice chairman last year and was its secretary-treasurer in 2013.
