McDonald’s to test home delivery in three Florida cities

Making fast food faster? Nearly 200 McDonald’s restaurants in Orlando, Tampa and Miami will test home delivery of the company’s food beginning in January, says Fortune. “The company hopes to roll out worldwide mobile ordering by 2018, starting with leading markets including the United States, Australia, Canada, France and the UK next year.”

For the test in Florida, McDonald’s is partnering with UnderEATS. Fortune said the fast-food giant already delivers through third-party companies such as DoorDash and Postmates.

It cited CNBC in saying other food chains, including Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Domino’s, have seen an increase in sales since launching mobile apps.
