The operators of a Vermont dairy farm agreed in federal court to suspend operations until they can show they use livestock drugs properly and do not sell cattle containing illegal drug residues, said the FDA. The Justice Department entered a consent decree of permanent injunction against the Correia Family Limited Partnership, doing business as Wynsum Holsteins. “Until Wynsum Holsteins takes corrective measures to address their violations we must order them to cease operations to make sure that food they produce does not put consumers at risk,” said FDA official Daniel McChensey. The agency said it repeatedly found violations at the farm. Courthouse News reported, “Under the terms of the settlement, the Correias must cease all operations until they implement new record-keeping and operational protocols. Facing heightened FDA oversight, the farm cannot resume food production until the FDA determines compliance with the law.”
