A bill introduced by Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida would “completely abolish” the EPA by the end of 2018, says The Huffington Post. “Today, the American people are drowning in rules and regulations promulgated by unelected bureaucrats and the Environmental Protection Agency has become an extraordinary offender,” says Gaetz in an email sent to to other House representatives.
“As conservatives, we must understand that states and local communities are best positioned to responsibly regulate the environmental assets within their jurisdictions,” Gaetz said. It’s not clear how much support the bill will have in the House or the Senate.
