A Spam ice cream sandwich is one of three answers in Culver City, the Los Angeles suburb. “The Hawaiian Pizza sandwich includes pineapple ice cream and Spam pieces between white chocolate macadamia nut cookies,” says the Los Angeles Times.
Ice cream retailer Coolhaus and Hanjip, a Korean BBQ restaurant, teamed up to develop the ice cream sandwiches. Besides Hawaiian Pizza, there’s Korean Chili Fries, which puts shoestring fries and red bean ice cream between cookies made with butterscotch, pretzels and potato chips. The third of the collaborations is Korean Cookies and Cream made of “Tahitian vanilla ice cream with Korean Choco pies between chocolate-covered Whoopee pie cookies. Because, why not?” says the Los Angeles Times’ “Daily Dish” on food.
