Two of the most widely used herbicides, glyphosate and atrazine, will be part of a nationwide evaluation of the effects of 16 chemicals on 1,500 endangered plants and animals, says DTN, citing a proposed settlement published in the Federal Register. The proposal would modify a 2010 settlement between the EPA and the Center for Biological Diversity that called for a review in the San Francisco Bay area of 75 agricultural chemicals and their impact on endangered species. The agency would have until 2020 to complete the nationwide review.
