Companies join White House on climate pledge

Thirteen of the largest U.S. companies “are joining President Obama” to push “a slew of policies meant to curb the effects of climate change,” said The Hill newspaper. The group includes four giants of the food sector: Cargill, Coca-Cola, Pepsico and Walmart. The White House said actions by the companies would help the United States meet a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 26-28 percent by 2025.
