A dead heat in Kansas, Braley ahead in Iowa
Republican Senator Pat Roberts, a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and Independent Greg Orman are neck-and-neck in a KSN/SurveyUSA poll conducted from Thursday through Sunday. Orman took 37 percent and Roberts 36 percent with a margin of error of +/-4.4 points. Democrat Chad Taylor, who declared he is no longer running, got 10 percent. “Voters who focused on the economy back Orman over Roberts 3-2 ratio. Voters who focused on Obamacare back Roberts over Orman 2-1 ratio, said Wichita broadcaster KSN.
It was the first poll to show Orman in the lead in Pollster’s compilation of surveys. The previous KSN/SurveyUSA poll had Roberts ahead by 5 points.
A Loras College poll says Democrat Bruce Braley is back in the lead over Republican Joni Ernst in the Senate race in Iowa, says Roll Call. The poll says Braley leads 45-41, a reversal from June when Ernst led 48-42. Pollster’s poll-tracking model puts the race at Braley 44, Ernst 40.
